How To Wash Your Motorcycle
When riding your motorcycle, it is being exposed to dirt, grime, dead bugs, and corrosive crud that's bad for your bike's paint, chrome, and metal parts. Washing your bike is as necessary for keeping it in top shape as it is for looking good. In this video and article we will explain a quick and easy way to clean your motorcycle.
Make sure your motorcycle isn’t hot and that your engine has cooled down if you took it out for a ride prior. Wetting a hot engine can have consequences.
Spray down your motorcycle with a standard hose. You want to make sure to use a gentle stream of water as putting too much pressure can damage the finishing and paint of your bike. Also, make sure to avoid any electronics that may be on your motorcycle.
Now it is time to soap the motorcycle. You simply want to take spray soap and vaporize it all over your bike.
Wash your bike with a soft cloth in order to avoid scratching your motorcycle. Make sure you hit every spot and get rid of all the dirt.
It is now time to rinse your bike again in order to remove all the soap and residue that may be on it. Rinse your bike well to avoid the soap leaving any marks.
Once you have rinsed your bike, it is time to dry it. Drying your bike right away is an important step since water left in creases may cause corrosion. You want to use something like the Super Drying Towel by S100, it works wonders!
You can now wax your motorcycle and polish certain chrome finishings, such as your exhaust. Waxing your motorcycle will enhance your motorcycle cleaning. A product such as the S100 Carnauba Paste Wax will seal in your paint while simultaneously protecting it. Additionally, you want to use a product like the S100 Super Surface Cleaner to clean your windshield. Just spray it on and use a super soft cloth to wash it off.
Dry washes are great if you want to give your bike a quick refresh. You can just spray them on your motorcycle and use a super soft cloth to clean and wipe it off. You don’t need any water to use these products!
